Description:

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She prides herself on being loved by everyone at work - except for imposing, impeccably attired Joshua Templeman.

Trapped in a shared office, they've become entrenched in an addictive game of one-upmanship. There's the Staring Game, The Mirror Game, The HR Game. Lucy can't let Joshua beat her at anything - especially when a huge promotion is on offer.

If Lucy wins, she'll be Joshua's boss. If she loses, she'll resign. So why is she questioning herself? Maybe she doesn't hate him. And just maybe, he doesn't hate her either. Or is this just another game . . . ?

Review:

I've had quite a few popular books on my Kindle for a while now and since my KU subscription has now run out, I've decided to dive into them.

This one starts with Lucy coming into work and glaring at her fellow PA and nemesis, Joshua, and readying for another battle of words. When their bosses tell them that a promotion is on the cards for one of them, they immediately try to outdo each other in pretty much every aspect of their job but when they end up spending more time together on a company bonding paintballing experience, things take an unexpected turn and Lucy begins to realise that there is a fine line between love and hate.

So this is the second book in a row where there is unrequited love as the main theme. One's been in love with the other for ever and the other is completely oblivious. It was kind of fun seeing these two working it out but I do think that Joshua went about it wrong. I didn't enjoy this one as much as The Love Hypothesis but it was still a good read.

P.S. I've always liked the idea of paintballing but it appears to be a very painful game to play if you get hit. That was a fun scene, though, apart from Lucy getting sick.
