There WILL be a royal wedding. The only question--who will be my groom?

An arranged marriage isn’t the worst fate for a princess like me. Especially because I’ve been in love with my intended groom since we were children.

But when my prince shows up with an American girlfriend instead of an engagement ring, all arrangements are off.

The clock is nearing midnight--I won’t turn into a pumpkin, but if I’m not wed by summer’s end, I’ll forfeit my kingdom.

Just your typical royal dilemma.

Out of sheer desperation, I make a deal with a devilish duke. Rafe de Silva is the prince’s rival and has a plan so ridiculous it just might work.

One moment, Rafe seems to relish making the prince jealous.

And the next… he’s making me question everything with his words, his touch, and his ability to melt my Ice Princess persona.

I’m not always given the luxury of choice, but now I have a huge one to make. I only hope I don't lose my crown, my heart, or myself in the process…

I picked this up after it was recommended on Amazon and had good ratings on Goodreads.

This starts with Serafina writing her childhood best friend - and crush - Callum a drunken letter where she pretty much tells him she loves him - especially considering that within a few months she's expecting them to be married. Only Callum turns up with an American girlfriend at the gala throwing Sera for a loop and she learns that Callum doesn't know of their arranged marriage. Her parents tell her that she must get married to someone with a title by the next party or she's going to lose everything. Step in bad boy duke Rafe who agrees to help her win Callum's heart despite being hopelessly in love with her himself.

I wasn't sure where this was going to go but I actually fell into this really quickly. I think it was that first look from Rafe's POV when we saw that he was madly in love with Seraf and had been for a while. It was really cute to see him struggle with his want for her and Callum's lack of romantic feelings.

I did enjoy this more than I was expecting, considering I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately. It had the right amount of humour, romance and banter. It was fun at times and I really fell into Seraf's hunt for a man - even if I was shipping Rafe from the start.

The royal theme was fairly new to me and the authors take on it was fun if a little crazy at times.

I will definitely be keeping my eye open for more books by this author.
