Description:

Liars.

Every last one of them.

The kings and queens of my new high school.

The father and stepmother I never knew.

Each has more wealth and privilege than I could've ever imagined.

Each has a pile of wicked dirty secrets they'd do anything to protect.

These people have grown accustomed to getting what they want and what they want is to make my life a living hell.

Too bad for them, you can't break someone who's already broken.

Too bad for them, I won't give up without a fight.

Too bad for them, I'm going to make them pay...even if it's the last thing I do.

Review:

I got this from the KU Library.

This starts with Jazz heading off to meet her dad for the first time after her mum dies. Turns out he's very rich and has certain standards and Jazz is not up to scratch. Throw in a step-mum and a bitchy stepsister and Jazz is just hoping to make it through the last few months of school so she can be reunited with her younger sister. She finds a friend in Ainsley but her twin brother, Kingston, and his friends rule the school and they mark her as an enemy and then Jazz finds the whole school working against her. What doesn't help is the attraction she feels towards Kingston - that appears to be reciprocated. But there are things going on involving both her and Kingston's dads that may put a stop to anything happening between them.

I do find a good bully romance to be a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I haven't read one for a while and the last series I did read was a reverse-harem one, too. This one isn't reverse-harem. She is attracted to another of Kingston's friends but Kingston's not willing to share.

This is also written in dual POV so we actually get to see Kingston's thoughts and we know why he's doing what he's doing with the initial bullying. It had me intrigued as to what was happening with their parents - it was all sounding a little dodgy.

As for Kingston and Jazz's relationship... I was cheering them on. Especially once we saw Kingston's POV and realised he wasn't that bad of a guy.

This does end on a cliffhanger so be warned. If you liked the story, like me, you'll want book 2 pronto so you can see how Jazz manages after the events of this book. I'm off to carry on with book 2!
